Open source operating system

The future appears to be pointing towards online operating systems or sometimes called cloud computing. These systems already exists, although not yet as practical as one would desire. Nevertheless, such systems can very helpful in so many ways and depending on your needs, these existing online open source operating system softwares might just fit the bill. eYeos, an open source cloud computing web desktop application is one good example.

What is eYeos?
eyeOS is an Open Source Platform designed to hold a wide variety of Web Applications. eyeOS was thought of as a new definition of an Operating System, where everything inside it can be accessed from everywhere inside a Network. All you need to do is login into your eyeOS server with a normal Internet Browser, and you have access to your personal desktop, with your applications, documents, music, movies... just like you left it. It includes a Desktop environment with 67 applications and system utilities. Also, eyeos lets you upload your files and work with them no matter where you are. It contains applications like Word Processor, Address Book, PDF reader, and many more developed by the community.

What are eyeos's goals?
The idea behind eyeOS is not to have an Operating System inside an Operating System, or a browser inside a browser. Instead, eyeOS is another step in the digital life era. The goals for eyeOS include::
